Joan Elizabeth Williams, 66, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022.
There are no formal services at this time.
Joan was born on September 17, 1956, in Rowan County, to the late William Pinkney Williams Jr and Lue Swicegood Williams. She loved to cook, sew, and watch her favorite show, Survivor. Joan was passionate about animal rescue and loved her rescue fur babies. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Genevieve Poole Jackson, 90, formerly of Graham Davis Rd. Ext, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Mountain Vista Health Park.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Davis officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Genevieve was born in Davidson County on July 8, 1932, to Lonnie Poole and Rosie Bean Poole. She was of the Baptist faith and had worked in the furniture industry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband George Weldon “G.W.” Jackson.
She is survived by a sister, Shirley Mize of Lexington; nephews, Jackie Poole (Regina), Kenneth Poole (Linda), David Farmer (Paula), Tim Poole (Donna), Johnny Poole, Jr; niece, Becky Fowler; great-nephews, Michael Fowler (Alexis) and Steven Fowler (Lisa); great-niece, Tanya Beane (Charles); and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

Jimmy Glenn Oakley, 75, of Lexington, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at Thomasville Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Oakley was born April 13, 1947, in Davidson County to James McKinley Oakley and Lucille Kinnamon Oakley Allen. He attended Linwood Methodist Church and was a Navy veteran. Jimmy retired from PPG. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, David “Pete” Allen.

Hannah Elizabeth Byrd, 21, born May 28, 2001, died peacefully at home, after an extended illness, to go home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
Left to cherish her memory, Mom, Amy Culler (Ray), Dad, Terry, and Stepmom Stacy Byrd. Brother, Jesse Byrd; Grandparents, Ken Porter (Debbie); Step grandmother, Drema Britt; Uncles and Aunts, Tom and Claudia Porter, and Jeff and Brandy Byrd; Cousins, Courtney (Dillion), Dalton (Seanna), Haley (Jeremy), Megan, Tyler, Austin, Henry, Brayden, Colten, Isabella, and Hutson. Special Best Friend, Hannah Doss.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Becky Porter, Roger and Chrissy Byrd.

Gregory Verne Tysinger, 65, of Denton, NC passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19. 2022.
A graveside inurnment service will be held at New Jerusalem United Church Cemetery.
Mr. Tysinger was born April 4, 1957, in Davidson County to John Clayton (JC) Tysinger and Maxine Hedrick Tysinger. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his father.

Elmer Eugene “Gene” Watkins, 83, of Lexington passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 21, 2022, in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Gene was born on May 19, 1939, in Davidson County to Benjamin Franklin Watkins and Rosa Haltom Watkins. He was a retired truck driver, having driven for Shelba D. Johnson for 25 years. Gene had an infectious personality, was a wheeler and dealer, and would always keep you laughing. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather, whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Kepley Watkins; his son, Tony Watkins; his grandson, Griffin Owens; and a brother, Jerry Watkins.

Morgan Joseph Williams January 26, 1992 - October 14, 2022 |
Morgan Joseph Williams, 30, of Winston Salem passed away Friday October 14, 2022 at his home. A celebration of life will be at a later date. Morgan was born January 26, 1992, in Davidson County to Christopher Willis Williams and Beverly Westbrook Williams. He was the logistics coordinator for Beverly’s Florist and Gifts. He was preceded in death by his dad. Morgan delivered flowers and brough a lot of joy to people receiving them. Morgan took great pride in setting up special events.
Surviving are his son, Liam Williams. His mom, Beverly Williams and brothers, Jordan Ellis Williams and Bradley Aaron Williams (Tracy Manuck).
