Clarence Raymond “Ray” Burchette, 63, of Grubb Dr., Denton, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Campus.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 14, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens with Rev. Travis Yates officiating.
Ray was born June 1, 1959, in Davidson County, to Vernon Bryan Burchette and Norma Jacquelyn “Jackie” Wylie Burchette. Ray was an auto mechanic. He was a former owner of the Denton Texaco and previously worked for Yadkin Valley Chevrolet.
He was preceded in death by his parents,

Julie Marie Hall Broughton, 61, of S. Main St., Bladenboro, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after an extended illness. Funeral Arrangements are incomplete at this time at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
Born in Norfolk VA on July 4, 1961, she was the daughter of John Farley Hall, Jr. and Phyllis Short Hall. She was a retired 7th grade English teacher from Littlefield Middle School in Robeson County. She had graduated from Pembroke College. She was preceded in death by her father in 2015.

Nellie Rosette Farthing Fish, 77, of Lexington, left this world Monday April 10, 2023 from her home joining Jesus and her loved ones.
Mrs. Fish was born July 1, 1945 in Watauga County to Jack Farthing and Pearl Farthing. Nellie was a member of Tyro Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larence Farthing and two sisters, Gladys Sharpe and Margaret Grace Farthing.

Ruth Jean Barber was born in Davidson County to the late David Donald Barber and Frances Edna Everhart Barber. She passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Hinkle Hospice House.
Jean was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Land Park Furniture.
She leaves to cherish her memory her step daughter, Patsy Stanford Hostermon; a sister, Nola Isenhour; a brother, Ben Barber; step grandchild, Kinsley Hostermon; a devoted friend, Shirley Payne and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Thelma Burch age 88 of Lexington died Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Baptist Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, April 14, 2023, at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Scott Slaughter. A burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, NC.
Thelma was born July 22, 1934, in Davidson County to Murphy Louya and Lillie Crotts Louya. She retired from Duracell and was a member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. Thelma loved spending time with her family, especially those precious grandchildren. She praised the Lord every day for all His blessings. Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, brother; Jack Louya, sister in-law, Bertha Louya, brother in-law Clarence Kiger.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm Wednesday, April 12 at Leonard Road Baptist Church, by the Rev. Tommy Hepler. Burial will follow at Holloways Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilson was born April 2, 1924 in Davidson County to Edward W. and Mary Emma Bailey Tysinger. She was the former owner of Glamour Curl Beauty Salon. Her husband, Oldon Taft Wilson Sr; her sons, Alvin Wilson and Buddy Wilson, her step-sons, Sherman Wilson, and Oldon Wilson Jr, preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Joe Tysinger, Marvin Tysinger, Ed Tysinger, Albert Tysinger, and Bill Tysinger, and her sisters, Ella Katen and Viola Mahala.
She is survived by her daughters, Alline Kirkus and Lucy Shaw, both of Lexington; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 18 great great-grandchildren.

Mr. Charles “Woody” Elwood Welborn, 87, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 12:24 am. He was born on September 24, 1935 in Davidson County to Dewey Lee Welborn, Sr. and Ocia Hughes Welborn. He was a faithful member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Thomasville. He worked at Norman Perry Lamps and Accessories in High Point where he retired after 19 years of service. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Lee Welborn, Jr., and Bobby Welborn; one sister, Doris Welborn Hayes.
Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Shelbie Clodfelter Welborn of the home; two daughters, Sandee Welborn Barker (John) and Jane Welborn Hicks; two grandsons, Matthew Barker (Kati) and Andrew Barker (Krystal); two great-grandsons, James and Jonas Barker; one brother, Joe Grooms. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members, along with his cat, “Miss. Kitty”.
