Oran “Wes” Dowd age 70 of Clemmons died Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center with both his children by his side.



A family gathering will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, May 6, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, NC.



Wes was born November 12, 1951, in Lee County to James Edward Dowd and Aggie Wallace Dowd. Oran is preceded in death by his parents, brother James Dowd, sister Annie Mae Pittman.

Nancy Blankenship Owen December 18, 1942 - April 30, 2022
Nancy Blankenship Owen, 79, of Lexington, passed away April 30, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.



A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Calvin Keller officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside at Meadowview Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.



Mrs. Owen was born December 18, 1942, in Catawba County, to John Woodrow Blankenship and Virgie Evans Blankenship. Nancy was a member of the Harvest Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Winston Salem, was retired teacher from Davidson County Community College. Her greatest accomplishment was teaching, and her book that she wrote “In the Back Woods of No Where”. Her passion was her faith, family and especially her 13 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Blankenship and Johnny Blankenship, her sister, Doris Mode.

Sandra Hanna Garner January 05, 1966 - April 28, 2022
Sandra Hanna Garner, age 56, of Lexington, NC passed away April 28th.

Services will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park on May 5th at 3pm, all are welcome.

She is survived by a loving husband, David, 2 children, Shay and Ashley, and 2 grandchildren, Miller and Gideon. As well as her sister, Bernadette, and 2 brothers, James and Shawn; and many friends and family.

Kim Annette Weavil November 28, 1967 - April 30, 2022
Kim Weavil, 54, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022, at her home.



A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with Pastor Richard Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.



Mrs. Weavil was born November 28, 1967, in Davidson County to Roscoe Evans Weavil Jr. and Marilyn King Weavil. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Debbie Smith and Pam Smith; nephew, Joshua Walters; and niece, Kirstyn Mack.

Donna Ena Moore March 20, 1955 - May 01, 2022
Donna Ena Sheasby Moore entered her next life on Sunday, May 1, 2022 after a long illness.



Born in Chicago Heights, IL to Donald J. Sheasby and Ester Ena Phillips on March 20, 1955, she was a former resident of Humboldt, TN and Fayetteville, NC before coming to Lexington with her partner of many years, Albert Gaylor. In Fayetteville, Donna was a veterinary technician, a job she loved and was well-suited for. She was devoted to her animals throughout the years – cats, horses, and dogs. She participated in several equine competitions and Fourth of July parades and loved dressing up her horses for the occasions. In addition to horseback riding, Donna loved to dance – line dancing, and two-step in particular. Generous to a fault, Donna loved her family. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Michael W. Moore; and her partner, Albert Gaylor.



She is survived by her mother, Ester Ena Sheasby (age 102); her sister, Andrea Weider (Frank); her brother, Donald Sheasby (MaryAnn); two nieces, Angela Carlson, and Pamela Orvis; one nephew, Eric Sheasby; six great-nieces and great-nephews; her beloved dog, Ziggy; and a host of friends and family who will miss her dearly.

Doris Marie Wood August 19, 1938 - April 30, 2022
Doris Marie Curry Wood, 83, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Piedmont Crossing.



A graveside service will be held 11 am Monday, May 2, 2022, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Derald Smith officiating.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home for an hour prior to the graveside service.



Mrs. Wood was born August 19, 1938, in Davidson County to Floyd Alex Curry and Lettie Thelma Swicegood Curry. She was a member of Floyd Baptist Church. Doris greatly enjoyed spending time outside bird watching and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Roscoe Wood; several siblings; and one grandson, Scotty Livengood.



Surviving is one son, Bobby Livengood (Sherry) of Lexington; five daughters, Glenda Fugett (Jimmy) of Thomasville, Gail Medlin (Tim) of Lexington, Brenda Sipes (Charlie) of Salisbury, Ann Witt (Kenneth) of Salisbury, and Janie Smillie (Ronald) of Lexington; one sister, LaVonda Seamon of Lexington; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Linda Gail and Diane; and a special friend, Leon.
