Helen Knouse Canter January 31, 2022 - April 17, 2022
Helen Annette Knouse Canter age 62 of Lexington passed away Easter Sunday April 17 2022, at her home. The family will celebrate her life privately.

Helen was born January 31 1960, in Forsyth County to David Zeno Knouse and Mary Elizabeth Osbourne Knouse. She was a homemaker. Her parents and a sister, Patricia Knouse, all preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Larry Elliott Canter of the home. Her children: David Canter, Matthew Canter, Larry Canter Jr., Chrissy Canter, Mary Canter and Peggy Hilton. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother, Bobby Knouse (Charlotte) and sisters, Kathy Knouse and Cheryl Henderson (Robbie).

James Franklin Mock January 29, 1942 - April 17, 2022

James Franklin 'Jim' Mock Sr., 80, of of Fairway Drive, died Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Summit Place in Mooresville, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Friday, May 6 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel.

Geraldine Curry Scott April 06, 1945 - April 18, 2022
Geraldine Scott age 77 of Sink Circle, Lexington died Monday, April 18, 2022, at her home with family by her side.



A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 22, 2022, at Forest Hill Memorial Park officiated by Homer Curry. Family will see friends after the service at the cemetery.



Geraldine was born April 6, 1945, in Davidson County to Homer Franklin Curry and Annie Phillips Curry. She retired from Thomasville Furniture and was of the Presbyterian Faith. Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, husband; James Benjamin Scott, three brothers and five sisters.



Surviving are her son; Benny Scott (Edith), brother Homer Curry (Linda), one grandchild Kailee Woodward (Joey), three great-grandchildren; Georga Kate, Joella and Isabella.

Jimmie Wayne Kennedy October 08, 1944 - April 16, 2022
Jimmie Kennedy age 77 died Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House with family by his side.



A funeral service will be held 11:00 am April 26, 2022, at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury NC, officiated by Pastor Keith Perkins. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, NC.



Jimmie was born in Davidson County October 8, 1944 to Roland Kennedy and Essie Jordan Walker. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons Donald Eugene Ridge, Freddie Dewayne Ridge, and brother Tommy Kennedy. Jimmie was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and served his country in the US Navy.



Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years Nellie Johnston Kennedy of the home; sons Charles Wayne Ridge (LeAnn), Robert Eugene Ridge (LeeAnn), Wilson Dameron Kennedy, daughters Debbie Ridge Byerly (Roger), Regenia Ridge Sowers (David), Kristy Kennedy Weisner (Cory), 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.

Gladys Lorene Houser April 05, 1934 - April 17, 2022
Gladys Lorene Dorsett Houser, 88, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Hospice of Davidson County.



A funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday at Mount Zion Wesleyan Church with Pastor Keith Carroll and Pastor Wilson Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm at the church prior to the service.



Mrs. Houser was born April 5, 1934, in Davidson County to Winfred Steven Dorsett and Bula Summey Dorsett. She was an avid member of Mount Zion Wesleyan Church where she attended and participated in her beloved Sunday School Class. Gladys was very loving and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Lorene Surratt; two sisters, Virginia Whittington, and Evelyn Fritts.



Left to cherish her memory are two sons, David Wayne Houser (Kristi) of Lexington and Donald Steven Houser (Sue Ann) of Thomasville; one daughter, Cathy Meachum (Robert) of Lexington; two sisters, Diane Crouse (Wayne) of Thomasville and Peggy Hunt (Owen) of Trinity; seven grandchildren, Steven (Cindy), Jason (Amanda), Jenny (Jeff), Lisa (Tracy), Madison (Jacob), Abby, and Seth; and nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Jameson, Laken, Kaydence, Ava, Luna, Graylyn, Gwendolyn, and Gracelyn. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Sarah Sims Pardington Hedrick July 25, 1931 - April 17, 2022
Sarah Sims Pardington Hedrick, 90, of Lexington, passed away April 17, 2022, at her home in Lexington.



A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour before the memorial service.



Sarah was born July 25, 1931, in Forsyth County, to Edward Davies Pardington Sr and Doris Gertrude Chipman Pardington. Sarah was a devoted member of Tyro Methodist Church. Was retired with Lexington Memorial Hospital serving with patient relations. Her passion was her faith, church, family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read, and doing crossword puzzles, but the most joy she got was caring for kids. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and sister, and Aunt, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wesley Hedrick Sr, her son, Donald “Ricky” Hedrick Jr, grandson, Wesley Hedrick, sisters, Angela Lloyd, Susan Freeman, and her brother, Edward Pardingtron Jr.



Left to cherish her memories are her son, William Hedrick, and wife Christy of Lexington; daughters, Kathryn Hiott and husband Galen, Susan Morgan, and husband Tony all of Lexington; also surviving are the joy of her life, her grandchildren, Bill Campbell, Stephanie Mann, Jessica Holliday, Alysson Morgan, Lindsey Hedrick, Jonathan Hedrick, Sarah Young, and Robert Young, also her great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Lane, Connor, Luke, Dillon, Philip, Olivia, Hannah, and her special cousin, Sarah James.

Dewey Bryce Mann March 08, 1949 - April 15, 2022
Dewey Bryce Mann, 73, of Lexington, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.



A memorial service will be held 1 pm Wednesday at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Brian Alexander officiating.



Mr. Mann was born March 8, 1949, in Davidson County to Spurgeon Blaine Mann and Emma Irene Cooper Mann. He served his country for four years in the United States Army then went on to work as a truck driver for 30 years. In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Mann; and two sisters, Shirlene Mann and Faynell Mann.



Surviving is his wife, Vickie Irene Bates Mann of the home; two daughters, Wendy Mann of Lexington, and Heather Alexander (Brent) of Salisbury; two brothers, Harold Mann (Evelyn) of Lexington and Tommy Mann of Texas; and six grandchildren, Shaan, Teja, Chelsey, Brooklyn, Bryson, and Makenna.
