Erma Loretta Howell November 21, 1945 - October 08, 2023
Erma Loretta Watts Howell of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC. She was born on November 21, 1945, to her loving parents, Lucian Watts and Madgie Elliot Watts, in Wayne County, West Virginia. Loretta dedicated her career to retail sales, working with Belk, where she brought joy to many through her service.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her son Gregory Enochs, as well as her brothers Jesse Watts, Minuard Watts, and L.J. Watts, and her sisters Nora “Tuni” Robertson and Lucille Sanders.

She is survived by her children, sons Michael Ray Enoch and his wife Julie, David Howell and his wife Lauren, daughters Lisa Meade and Ramona Coleman, brother Jimmy Watts and his wife Dreama, sisters Jewell Larson, Judy McComas and her husband Hurley, Bonnie Adkins and her husband Dennis, and Bertha Vance and her husband Charles. She has 11 precious grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service to celebrate Loretta's life will be held at Rich Fork Baptist Church on Thursday, October 12, 2023, with Reverend Matthew Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to Gideon's International in Loretta's honor.

Shirley Jean Freeman April 03, 1954 - October 07, 2023
Shirley Freeman age, 69, of Lexington, NC passed away at Hinkle Hospice House of Lexington, NC, Saturday, October 7, 2023, with family by her side.



A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Phillip Puckett officiating. Burial will follow to Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.



The family will receive family and friends Monday, October 9, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, NC



Shirley was born in Sampson County to Paul Edward Smith and Mary “Frances” Pearson Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 38 years Ronald “Ronnie” Ray Freeman Sr., son William Jerry Brown, daughter Dawn Freeman Mote, brother Byron Smith, sister June Parson, and great grandson, Cooper Rolph.



Surviving are her sons; Ronald Ray Freeman Jr. (Christina) of Arcadia, Paul Michael Freeman (Amanda) of Churchland, sister Deborah Clodfelter (Jeff), Jackie Emerson (Dale), six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Linda Bruff Foster April 19, 1953 - October 05, 2023
Linda Foster, age 70, of Lexington, NC passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center with family by her side.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Richard Moore officiating. A burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral, Lexington, NC, and other times at the home of; Jennifer & Ryan Cooper, 145 Moss Brook Drive, Lexington, NC 27292.

Linda was born in Davidson County on April 19, 1953, to Calvin “Mayor” Bruff and Louise Medlin Bruff. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Donna Brooks Medlin Bruff, brother in-laws, James Dowd, Mark Jones.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ronald Foster of the home, daughters; Jennifer Foster Cooper (Ryan), Julie Foster, sisters Hilda Dowd, Marla Medlin, sisters in-law Cindy Jones, Terri Lyda (Thomas) six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and special niece, Holly Dowd, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, or donor’s choice.

Richard Gordon Gregory October 03, 1948 - October 04, 2023
Richard "Rick" Gordon Gregory, born to William Earle Gregory II and Mary Edra Green Gregory, entered this world on October 3, 1948. Rick passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 4, 2023. Rick was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Gregory.

He is survived by his devoted son, Bradley Gregory (Kristin), his cherished daughter, Stacy Gregory, and his caring sister, Barbara Gregory. Rick is also survived by three brothers, William Earle Gregory III (Shirley), Ronnie Gregory (Linda), and Jerry Gregory. He leaves behind a legacy through his three beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Blake, and Cassidy Gregory, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also had two great friends, Stewart Hodges and Brian Billings whom he enjoyed spending time with.

Rick dedicated his career as an Engineer to Gilbarco, where he worked tirelessly until his well-deserved retirement.

Rick was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church and served his country with honor in the US Army.

In his leisure time, Rick enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved his 69 Chevy Nova and had a passion for fishing, raising and showing chickens, running rabbit dogs, riding horses, wood carving, and tending to his garden. These hobbies brought him great joy throughout his life.

A graveside service to celebrate Rick's life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard and the US Army. A visitation will take place on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel.

Martin Arnold Norris March 03, 1959 - October 04, 2023
Martin Arnold Norris, 64, of Davidson County, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

There are no formal services at this time.

Martin was born in Ocala, Florida, to the late Donald Norris and Myrtie Tillman Norris on March 3, 1959.

He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. However, his greatest joy was his family. Martin was a wonderfully loving husband, father, and grandfather. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Denver and Stacy Norris.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 31 years, Sharon Norris, of the home; daughter, Christina Figueroa and husband Eddie, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Gabriel and Jacob Figueroa; and sister, Sue McPeters.

Dennis Orlice Dellinger March 02, 1946 - September 29, 2023
Dennis Orlice Dellinger, age 77, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away on September 29, 2023. He was born on March 2, 1946. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a cherished member of his community.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Scott and Gary Dellinger. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Hunt Dellinger, who was by his side at home. He leaves behind a son, Chris Dellinger, and wife Martha, a daughter, Holly, as well as two sisters-in-law, Doris Dellinger and Jeanna Dellinger. Dennis was a proud and devoted “Paw Paw” to Jayda, Jordin, and Caroline.
Dennis had a fulfilling career and retired from the City of Lexington, where he served as the Director of Information Technology Services. He was known for his dedication and expertise in his field, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with.
Beyond his professional life, Dennis was a man of faith and a member of Center Church. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including his love for golf and solving crossword puzzles. His passion for these pursuits brought him happiness and relaxation throughout the years.

Karen Annette Martin October 22, 1950 - October 02, 2023
Karen Annette Crews Martin, born to Raeford and Neil Crews in Guilford County, North Carolina, on October 22, 1950, passed away on October 2, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved son, David Lee Martin.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Lawrence Martin, who was by her side at the home they shared. Karen leaves behind a cherished daughter, Melissa Annette Neal, and a brother, Michael Ray Crews, and his wife, Jean. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her three grandchildren, Megan Ray Martin (Justin), Mahogany Jeannette Martin Floyd (Dustin), and Marcell Lawrence Neal, as well as six great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
Karen dedicated her life to the care of others as a nurse at Baptist Hospital. Her compassion and dedication to her profession touched the lives of countless patients and their families.
Karen Annette Crews Martin loved her music, flowers, cooking delicious meals for her family, and feeding her hummingbirds. She will be remembered for her kindness, her loving spirit, and the lasting impact she had on the lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel is honored to be serving the Martin family during this difficult time.
