Sam David Burton July 04, 1935 - September 27, 2023
Malcolm David “Sam” Burton, 88, of Lexington passed away September 27, 2023, at his home.



A visitation will be Friday, September 29, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.



Malcolm was born July 4, 1935, to Milton and Mildred Grimes Burton. He operated Sam’s Restaurant from 1968 to 1980 and retired from Lexington Home Brands and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and loved to fish. He is preceded in death by his parents along with his wife Etta Sue Mitchell Burton, and his sisters; Elaine Reece and Patsy Pugh.



Malcolm is survived by his daughters; Vickie Cooper and Paula Haynes, brother, Larry Burton, grandchildren; Buddy Secrest (Rachel) and Pamela Haynes (Mitchell Sowers), great grandchildren; Lilly, Malcolm Fisher, and Badin Tucker.

Lonnie Hillard Warner September 03, 1932 - September 27, 2023
Lonnie Hillard, 88, of Lexington passed away Wednesday September 27, 2023 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.



A funeral service will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Beck’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Johnson officiating services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will visit with friends on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home.



Mr. Warner was born July 1, 1935 in Davidson County to Stacy Ray and Bessie Viola Myers Warner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Janice Marie Briggs Warner and grandson Phillip Cross.



Surviving is his son, Dale Warner of Lexington; two daughters, Carol Warner Bell (Douglas) of Stanley, NC and Sherrie Warner Cross of Lexington, NC, 3 grandchildren; Ashley Fulp (Patrick), Rachel Bell, and Erin Bell; great-grandson Jameson Fulp; and sister-in-law Brenda Leonard Billy) of Lexington.

Joann Morris Allred October 30, 1936 - September 26, 2023
Joann Morris Allred, 86, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.



A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Grace Alliance Church with Pastor Tim Higgs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service at the church.



Mrs. Allred was born October 30, 1936, in Davidson County, to Mr. Lee Curnel Morris and Mrs. Elizabeth Sink Morris. She was a member of Grace Alliance Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Allred; four brothers, Calvin Morris, Vernon Morris, Willie Morris, and Edmond Morris; and five sisters, Florence Mcleod, Lucille Swing, Zella Mae Burkhart, Dorothy Tysinger, and Caroline Tysinger.

Dale Fritts Sink November 07, 1938 - September 26, 2023
Dale Fritts Sink, 84, of Lexington, passed away on September 26, 2023 at his home in Lexington while surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Reeds United Methodist Church, where he was a lifelong member, with the Rev. Ray Morgan officiating. Burial will follow the celebration in the church cemetery. Mr. Sink was born on November 7, 1938 in Davidson County to Arlie Webster Sink and Annie Fritts Sink. Dale was a devoted member of the church and the church choir for many years. He retired from Lexington Home Brands after 43 years of service. Dale loved to travel with his wife Lucy and special friends to the mountains, overseas, and throughout the United States. His passion was his faith, church, family, and especially his grandchildren. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Harold Sink, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Griggs (Johnny), Jean Rodden (John), Martha Hartley (Buck), and Linda King. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Lucy Beck Sink of the home; sons, Mark Sink and wife Karrie, Steven Sink and wife Paula, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Kaeli Stafford and husband Patrick, Evan Sink and wife Sierra, Colson Sink, Sarah Sink, Josh Sink, and Lauryn Sink. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law, Larry King and wife Wanda, Eddie Beck and wife Nell, and Cromer Lee Beck, all of Lexington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reeds United Methodist Church c/o Building Fund, 4731 West Old Highway 64, Lexington, NC 27295 or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292

James Delano Campbell, Sr. April 08, 1935 - September 23, 2023
James "Jim" Delano Campbell, Sr., born on April 8, 1935, in Kanawha, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on September 23, 2023. He was the beloved son of the late Rance Campbell and Pansy Mae Metz Campbell.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Claudette Leigh Poindexter, her husband Gary, and one cherished grandchild, Adam Poindexter.

He is survived by his devoted son, James "Jamie" D. Campbell, Jr., two loving daughters, Adele Bowman (Mark) and Sherri Bodenheimer (Vern), and a stepson, George Randall Hoffman (Cathy). Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, as he is also survived by seven cherished grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jim dedicated his career to maintenance at Wake Forest University, where his hard work and commitment made a lasting impact. His sense of duty and responsibility extended beyond his workplace; he was a dedicated member of Union Grove Baptist Church, where he found strength and purpose in his faith.

A service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church. The service will be officiated by Pastors Josh Evans and T.W. Bailey. Following the service, Jim will be laid to rest at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Jim's love for his church and his family knew no bounds. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear will be forever remembered and cherished.

The Campbell family is grateful for the support and care provided by the staff at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel during this difficult time.

Lee Ann Byrd Poole January 10, 1960 - September 24, 2023
Lee Ann Byrd Poole, 63, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at her home.



A private family visitation will be held at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.



Lee Ann had many things in her life that brought her joy. Her love of working with children, Appalachian football, and her family being her most loved. Her pride and joy came in January with the birth of her grandson.



Ms. Poole was born January 10, 1960, in Davidson County, to Mr. Joel Franklin Byrd Sr. and Mrs. Sue Carol Everhart Byrd. She was preceded in death by her parents.



Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kazie Martin (Sean) of Elizabethtown; one brother, Joel “Rusty” Byrd (Tina) of Lexington; and one grandson, Marshall Martin. Also surviving are many other loved cousins.
