Grady Wilson Ayers December 08, 1942 - November 03, 2022 |
Grady Ayers age 79 of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home with family by his side.
A graveside service will be at a later date.
Grady was born December 8, 1942, in Surry County to Robey Wilson Ayers and Margaret Harvey Ayers. He retired as a Store Manager from Harris-Teeter, served in the US Naval Construction Battalion, known as the “SEABEES”, (USN MCB 7) and was a member of Triad Baptist Church and The Gideons International. Grady is preceded in death by his parents, son Grady Wilson Ayers Jr., daughter Christina Ayers Hodges, sister Brenda Sykes.
Surviving are his wife; Peatie Minton Ayers of the home, daughter Dawn Melton (Timothy), brother Gary and sister Lynne, one grandchild Casey, two step-grandchildren, Julius and Maris and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Eva Mae Elliott Everhart, 78, a resident of Lexington, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2022 in Lexington Medical Center. Eva was born in Rowan County on January 17, 1944 to the late Samuel Alexander and Evelyn Alman Elliott. She worked for Duracell for many years. Eva enjoyed sewing, her flowers, and loved her family and church family very much. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Gene Elliott; and two sisters, Mary Bost and Elsie Burnette.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2022 at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church, 214 Andrew Sink Road, Lexington, NC 27295.

Troy Lee Buie, 77, of Lexington, passed away on November 2, 2022, at Alston Brook.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Tammy Tolbert officiating.
Mr. Buie was born October 7, 1945, in Davidson County, to William John Buie and Sadie Ellen Owens Buie. He was a loving brother, whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Foy Buie and Stanley Buie
Left to cherish his memory are his sister-in-laws, Linda Buie and Vernita Buie both of Lexington.

David Elton Owens, 69, of Lexington, passed away November 3, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Langley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Owens was born April 30, 1953, in Davidson County, to Bobby Edward Owens and Margaret Cross Owens and was of the Baptist faith. David was a veteran having served in the US Navy and was retired with over 40 years of service with PPG. David loved to ride his Harley and work on cars and trucks, and also loved to work on guns. However, most of time you could find him in front of his TV watching his favorite movies. David was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be missed by all.

Courtney Ashlyn McDermott, 20, a resident of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her home. Courtney was born in Madison County, TN on December 12, 2001 to Christopher Shawn and Melinda Osborne McDermott. She loved music, going to concerts, especially to see her favorite bands, Tewnty-One Pilots and Fall Out Boy. She also enjoyed keeping up to date with all her favorite YouTubers. She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2022 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. There will not be a formal visitation.
Left to cherish Courtney’s memory are her father, Chris McDermott; step-mother, Jaehyun McDermott of Floyds Knob, Indiana; grandparents, Patricia LaMarre of the home and Dannie Hicks of Lexington; sisters, Caitlyn Ortiz and Clarissa McDermott; brothers, Junyeong and Junseo Shin; and several other family members and friends.

Michael “Andy” Andrew Elliott, 49, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at High Point Medical Center.
No formal services will be held at this time.
Mr. Elliott was born July 8, 1973, in Randolph County to Michael Curtis Elliot and Cynthia Jeanette Beasley Norman. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Community Church in Trinity. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his fiancé, Melinda Miller; and one sister, Valerie Holshouser.
