Norma Jacquelyn “Jackie” Wylie Burchette, 88, of Grubb Dr., Denton, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 09, 2022, at Mountain Vista Health Park.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Travis Yates.

“Jackie” was born in Sumter, SC on May 1, 1934, to Paul Wylie and Pauline Hill Wylie. She was a member of Grubb’s Grove Original Covenant Church of God and had retired from Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Bryan Burchette.

She is survived by sons, Terry Burchette and wife Joyce and Ray Burchette of Denton; daughter, Delayne B. May of Denton; brother, Gene Wylie of Lexington; 7 grandchildren, Nicole May, Bryan Burchette (Connie), Melissa Coppley (Randall), Adrienne Moody (Spencer), Emily Burchette (Henry), Anna Burchette, and Daniel Burchette; 8 great-grandchildren, Ashton (Cierra), Chelsie, Lia (Chase), Paige (Austin), Amber (Rodney), Katherine, Samuel, and Tiffany.

Shirley Garren Truitt November 28, 1944 - November 08, 2022
Shirley Truitt age 77, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.



A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 14, 2022, at Pilgrim Reformed Church with Pastor Richard Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive family and friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm prior to the service in the church parlor.



Shirley was born in Cherokee County November 28, 1944, to Wade Lawrence Garren and Maude Almond Garren. She retired from the Civil Service and was a member of Pilgrim Reformed Church. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Garren, Sisters, Freida Garren and Evelyn Wade.

Charles Edward Lane February 16, 1947 - November 07, 2022
Charles Edward Lane, “Eddie” of Lexington, NC passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the age of 75. After several months of declining health, Eddie passed away surrounded by faith, love, and family.

Eddie was born on February 16, 1947, in Albemarle, NC to the parents of CV Lane and Alma Snuggs Lane. He was a graduate from Albemarle High School and went on to graduate from NC State University. Eddie’s strong work ethic and desire to take care of his family lead him to work in textiles at PPG in both Shelby and Lexington and he later retired from Owens Corning as sales manager in marine composites. Eddie found joy in playing golf, wood working projects, spending time with his family and friends, and being at the beach. His gentle nature and spirit touched the lives of many. He was a man of faith, example of character, and hero to those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Charles Whitley, and nieces, Karen Whitley and Mary Susan Chase.

Susan Church January 26, 1952 - November 08, 2022
Susan Bean Church, 70, of First Circle, Lexington, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Hinkle Hospice House after a short illness.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park on Friday November 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Susan was born in Denton, NC on January 26, 1952 to Efird Lee Bean and Edith Williams Bean. She worked for many years with Lexington Furniture at various plants. For the last 25 years she was employed at Food Lion on Talbert Blvd where she developed many friendships with the loyal customers. She was known as Mrs. Food Lion and everyone knew her as “the little short spunky lady” at Register 1.

Christopher Rhodes July 25, 1954 - November 06, 2022
Christopher Mark Rhodes, 68, of Lexington passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at his home.



A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell, III officiating. A private committal service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park.



Mr. Rhodes was born in Stanly County, NC on July 25, 1954, to Richard Ivan Rhodes and Martha Lee Barnes Rhodes. He was previously a popular and respected English teacher at Lexington Senior High where he imparted a love of literature to his many students. He later served as executive director and retired from the Catawba Valley Association of Realtors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Clay Rhodes.

Michael Richard Jimenez March 22, 1945 - November 05, 2022
Michael "Mike" Jiménez 77, of Lexington North Carolina peacefully passed away on November 5, 2022. Mike was born on March 22, 1945, in Pueblo, Colorado. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is preceded in death by his daughter Gail Lyn Jiménez, parents, Manuel and Paz Jiménez, and in-laws Juan and Teresa Martinez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52-years Herminda "Mindy" Jiménez, children Michele Stürtz, Kristofer (Kelly) Jiménez and grandson Evan Castro.

Mike was a Master Carpenter and Vocational Instructor. He had a passion for music, NASCAR, birds and his grand-pups. A friend to everyone he met.
