Judy Leonard Michael July 21, 1940 - June 26, 2023
Judy Mae Leonard Michael, age 82, of Lexington passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, June 29th in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. David Langley officiating. The family will have a private burial.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service.

Judy was born on July 21, 1940, in Davidson County to David Leonard and Perry Everhart Leonard. She worked hard to take care of her family and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dennis Michael, a son, Robert Alan Michael and a brother, Roger Leonard.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, David Michael, son-in-law Chris Bell; son, Gary Michael (Tammy) and Bryce Harper, her significant other; daughters, Jane Michael Brewster (Tony), Pamela Michael Bell, daughter-in-law, Judy Michael; sister, Evelyn Leonard Mann (Harold); four grandchildren, Alan Michael (Brandy), Michael Brewster (Stephanie), Chase Brewster (Kaila), Perri Bell and two great-grandchildren.

Faye Yarborough Chappell May 29, 1927 - June 22, 2023
Faye Aline Yarborough Chappell, 96, of Candor, died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2023 at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Keith Campbell officiating. Private inurnment services will be held later.



Born in Guilford County on May 29, 1927, she was the daughter of John P. and Beaulah Jane Williams Yarborough. She was the owner/operator of Faye’s Beauty Shop in Candor for 53 years. She was a member of Candor UMC and was preceded in death by her husband, Stanton Harry Chappell, esquire, brothers, J. D. and Johnny Yarborough and sister, Anne Yarborough.



Mrs. Chappell is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Chappell Creech and husband Will of Star; grandson, Jonathan Bruce Totten and wife Carla; 1 great-grandchild.

Steve William White March 25, 1949 - June 24, 2023
Steve William White went to meet his Savior on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 8:30 in the morning. He was 74 years of age.

Steve was born in Lexington, NC on March 25, 1949, to Claude and Belva Lea White. He attended Welcome Elementary School and graduated from North Davidson High School in 1967. Steve also graduated from Davidson County Community College with an Associate’s Degree as a Machinist.

He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Welcome.

In 1970, Steve joined the US Navy and proudly served his country until his discharge in 1974. He was able to visit many countries while serving in the Navy, most of which he greatly enjoyed.

On July 10, 1971, Steve married Carla Whitley. They had two daughters, Amanda White and Sandra Goins (Steven), and he was the grandfather of four grandchildren, Kira, Hunter, Jillianne, and Luke. He had one sister, Linda Nifong, and her husband Charlie. His uncle Bob Davis of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are a niece, Jana Eanes, and a nephew, Aaron Eanes (Deitra) all of Welcome. His mother-in-law, Mary Whitley, and brother-in-law, Anthony Whitley of Lexington, and many beloved cousins.

Steve retired from Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years.

Some of his favorite activities were going to Myrtle Beach and listening to Southern Gospel music.

Our lives are emptier without his presence, but he will always live in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Forsyth Medical Center for their loving care of Steve, and Dr. Kimberly Wright, and staff of Friedberg Family Medicine.

Wayne Owens March 15, 1945 - June 23, 2023
Forrest Wayne Owens, 78, of Lexington, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at Hospice of Davidson County.



There will be no formal service at this time.



Mr. Owens was born March 15, 1945, in Davidson County, to Forrest Cleveland and Cleo Dowell Owens. Wayne was married to Irene Danuff Owens of the home since June 28th, 1999.

Tony Ray Hulin October 2, 1952 ~ June 22, 2023 (age 70)
Mr. Tony Ray Hulin, age 70, of Thomasville went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at his home. Tony was born on October 2, 1952 to Sylvia Sowers Shaw and the late Robert Lenzy Hulin. Surviving is his loving wife of 49 years, Gayle Sebastian Hulin of the home; one son, Christopher Bradley “Brad” Hulin and his spouse, Love Murray Hulin of Thomasville; his granddaughter, Emma Faye Hulin; a brother, Robert Brian Hulin and spouse Janice; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Tony attended Ledford Senior High School and served his country in the United States Air Force from September 4, 1970 until his honorable discharge on August 31, 1972. He was employed by North State Telephone in 1974 and retired after 37 years of service in 2011. He was then employed by Bucks Communications for approximately 3 years.

Tony was known for his many years of involvement with auto racing and also enjoyed golfing with his son and friends. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Thomasville for 6 years. Tony loved his family and loved spending time with them for Sunday lunch and every year at the beach making memories, especially with Emma. Tony will be greatly missed by his family.
