Steve William White March 25, 1949 - June 24, 2023
Steve William White went to meet his Savior on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 8:30 in the morning. He was 74 years of age.

Steve was born in Lexington, NC on March 25, 1949, to Claude and Belva Lea White. He attended Welcome Elementary School and graduated from North Davidson High School in 1967. Steve also graduated from Davidson County Community College with an Associate’s Degree as a Machinist.

He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Welcome.

In 1970, Steve joined the US Navy and proudly served his country until his discharge in 1974. He was able to visit many countries while serving in the Navy, most of which he greatly enjoyed.

On July 10, 1971, Steve married Carla Whitley. They had two daughters, Amanda White and Sandra Goins (Steven), and he was the grandfather of four grandchildren, Kira, Hunter, Jillianne, and Luke. He had one sister, Linda Nifong, and her husband Charlie. His uncle Bob Davis of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are a niece, Jana Eanes, and a nephew, Aaron Eanes (Deitra) all of Welcome. His mother-in-law, Mary Whitley, and brother-in-law, Anthony Whitley of Lexington, and many beloved cousins.

Steve retired from Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years.

Some of his favorite activities were going to Myrtle Beach and listening to Southern Gospel music.

Our lives are emptier without his presence, but he will always live in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Forsyth Medical Center for their loving care of Steve, and Dr. Kimberly Wright, and staff of Friedberg Family Medicine.
In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in Steve’s name to First Baptist Church of Welcome at PO Box 269, Welcome, North Carolina 27374.

The staff at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
