Clarence
Clarence “Roy” South of Lexington NC passed away Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.



A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, December 10th, 2022, at New Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Byrne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.



Roy was born March the 27th 1952 in Wilkes County NC to Clarence Ray South and Inez Roten South.

He was retired from RJR and served as a deacon at New Friendship Baptist Church, Served on the Board of Directors Baptist State Convention, he loved Gardening, ALL animals, coaching basketball, his precious daughters and grandchildren. He also enjoyed the many mission trips he got to take.

He is preceded in death by his father and brother Randy Clyde South.

Brian Taylor Carlson March 12, 1960 - December 05, 2022
Brian Taylor Carlson, 62, of Lexington, passed away Monday December 5, 2022 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.



A memorial service will be held 10:00 am December 17, 2022 at Our Lady of the Rosary with Father Sabastian officiating services.



Mr. Carlson was born March 12, 1960 in Litchfield Connecticut to William Carlson and Ruth Taylor Carlson. Brian was preceded in death by his parents.



Surviving is his wife, Barbara Ellen Wavra Carlson, of the home; his son, Andrew Carlson (Caroline) of Burlington; his daughter, Tiffany Salas (Jose) of Chicago; two brothers, Bill Carlson (Linda) of Florida and Brad Carlson (Anna) of Connecticut; one sister, Mimi Martinelli (Frank) of Connecticut and one grandchild, Cora Carlson.

Thelma Alice Sweigart Leash, 85, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Hospice of Davidson County.



A graveside service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Lexington City Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home.



Mrs. Leash was born January 13, 1937, in Mays Landing, New Jersey, to Lawrence Sweigart and Helen Jordan Sweigart. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sylvester Leash; one granddaughter, Beverly; and one great-grandson, Robert.

Janice Presley Edwards January 08, 1950 - December 05, 2022
Janice Presley Edwards, 72, of Winston Salem passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at her home. The funeral service will be 3:00 pm Friday, December 9, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel conducted by Revs. Rick Lebaube and Ben Vogler. Burial will follow at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 2-3 pm Friday prior to the service.

Mrs. Edwards was born January 8, 1950, in Davidson County to the late Ray Presley and Edna Sink Presley. She retired from Davidson County Schools and taught at Midway Elementary, Wallburg Elementary, and North Davidson Middle school and was a member of Midway United Methodist Church. Her brother, Charles Presley also preceded her in death.

Donald Allen Simmons February 15, 1945 - December 06, 2022
Donald Simmons age 77 of Lexington, NC passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Thomasville Medical Center.



A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 12, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Jeremy Benbrooks, Rev. Frankie Matthews.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm Monday prior to the service. A burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park, Winston-Salem, NC.



Donald was born in Sampson County February 15, 1945, to Ralph Edward Simmons and Edna Hood Simmons. He retired from Rexam Beverage and was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. Donald was a fixer of everything, a boat racer in his younger days, was known to have the magical touch.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Joseph (Joey) Allen Hunt Jr March 30, 1951 - December 05, 2022
Joseph (Joey) Allen Hunt Jr., 71, of Kernersville, passed away December 5, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.



A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Center Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brian Alexander and Sandy Young officiating the service. The family will receive friends following the service in the church.



Mr. Hunt was born March 30, 1951, in Davidson County, to Joseph (Joe) Allen Hunt Sr., and Betty Sue Weaver Hunt. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Oakridge NC and was owner and operator of Hunt Trucking. He graduated from Central High School and had worked in the family business as a meat cutter with Hunt Supermarket. Joey in his spare time love to read especially his bible, He was a loving husband, Uncle, and friend who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Hunt, and his sister, Susan Cassidy, and a nephew, Eddie Hunt Jr.

Jeffrey Steven Bull, 32, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Perdue officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the church, prior to the service.

Jeff was born on December 18, 1989, in Davidson County, to Mr. Jeff Alan Bull and Ms. Tammy Marie Copley McCarson. He loved the outdoors and was known to be wonderful at any sport but had a particular love for golf and basketball. Jeff is preceded in death by his mother.

Left to cherish his memory are his father and stepmother, Jeff Bull Sr. and Emily Bull of FL; daughters, Alexis Bull and Addison Bull of Lexington; stepbrothers, Nathan Lannie of Newbern, Dylan Lannie of Lexington, Isaiah Lannie of FL, and Marshall Parsons of FL; stepsisters, Natalie Bull of Salisbury, Danielle Saul of Lexington, Selena Henderson of Lexington, Grace Ann Lannie of FL, and Mary Parsons of FL; aunts and uncles, Charlotte Musser and husband John of FL, Rodney Bull and wife Sylvia of Lexington, Robin Sink and husband Dwight of Lexington, Amy Lahaie and husband Drew of Walkertown, Maria Brinkly and husband Bobby of Lexington, and Cynthia Campbell and husband Dennis of Ramseur; a very special cousin, Christy Byerly and husband Adam of Lexington; and numerous family and friends.
