Eleanor Lamonds Stutts January 13, 1936 - May 30, 2022
Eleanor Marie Lamonds Stutts, 86, of Privette Rd., Candor, died Monday, May 30, 2022 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst. Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 3, 2022 at Candor Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Jarman officiating.



Born in Montgomery County on January 13, 1936, she was the daughter of Edgar and Gladys Freeman Lamonds. Eleanor was a florist for over 46 years, working in Candor and Troy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reece Stutts in 2021.



Mrs. Stutts is survived by two sons, Kevin Stutts of Troy and Alan Stutts of Candor; 5 brothers, Charles Lamonds, Richard Lamonds, Roger Lamonds, Johnny Lamonds, all of Candor, and Warren Lamonds of Wadeville; sister, Millie Lamonds Linville of Candor; 2 grandchildren, Kelly Kennedy (David) and Brooke Castaneda (Mario); 3 great-grandchildren, Brynna Kennedy, Aiden Ayers, and Connor Castaneda.

Rayford Linville Whitley March 19, 1925 - May 30, 2022
Rayford Whitley, age 97 of Winston-Salem, a WW II Veteran, was called to his eternal home on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.



A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2022, at Oaklawn Memorial Park.



Family will receive friends after the service in the cemetery.



Mr. Rayford was born in Davidson County to David Andrew Whitley and Effie Mae Alley Whitley. Rayford was of the Baptist faith and retired from RJ Reynolds. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Margaret Adkins Whitley, son Michael Whitley, his parents and five brothers and three sisters.

Betty Nahay August 26, 1934 - May 29, 2022
Betty Jo Stafford Nahay, age 87, of Lexington passed away Sunday May 29, 2022 at her home. A cryptside service will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. There will not be a formal visitation.

Betty was born August 26, 1934 in Randolph County to the late Lawrence Howard and Mary Davis Stafford. She retired from Western Electric, now AT&T, after many years of service. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping, especially when she could buy things for her friends and family. Betty also enjoyed bird watching, being outside, and was an amazing seamstress. Her husband Leslie George Nahay preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Leslie Floyd of Lexington; a granddaughter, Kenzie Floyd of Winston-Salem; sisters, Ellen Rosso (Pete) of Walkertown and Marilyn Hale of Kernersville; great-grandson, Waylon Jarrett; nephews, Brad Bowman and family, Tony Rosso and family; a niece, Katie Rosso Nichols and family; and beloved furry companion, Karmie.

Bruce Payne July 09, 1945 - May 30, 2022
Bruce Dale Payne, 76, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 30, 2022, at his home.



A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Henry King officiating.



The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.


Mr. Payne was born in Andrews, NC on July 9, 1945, to John Payne and Norma Carver Payne. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Gordon Payne; his son, Curtis Dale Payne; two brothers, Ernest Payne, and Johnny Payne; and a sister, Lillian King.



Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tonya Yarbrough (Daniel), and Cindy Ellis (Jeff); a brother, Bobby Payne (Patricia); two sisters, Ruby Hedrick, and Lois Jones; three grandchildren, Tasha, Brandi, and Sawyer; and two great-grandchildren, Gage, and Paisley.

Larry Koonts October 02, 1962 - May 29, 2022
Larry George Koonts, 59 of Lexington passed away Sunday afternoon at Hinkle Hospice House, after a period of declining health.



A visitation will be held 6- 8 pm on Wednesday June 1st at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel.



Larry was born in Davidson County on October 2, 1962 to George Homer Koonts Jr. and Barbara Barker Weaver.



He was a retired equipment operator for Furniture Land South. Larry was preceded in death by his father and his partner of 30 plus years Ronda Lozier.



He is survived by his son; Justin Koonts (Meghan) of Linwood , his stepdaughter Miranda Lozier Odom (Caleb) of Lexington. Two step grandchildren Braydon and Ophelia Odom, and his mother of Thomasville.

Ronnie James Walser November 29, 1946 - May 27, 2022
Ronnie Walser died Friday, May 27, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.



A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Near Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where he was a member and deacon with Pastor Jeff Walser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at the church.



Mr. Walser was born November 29, 1946, in Davidson County to James Lester Walser and Pauline Holt Walser. He served in the US Marines, retired from the City of Lexington as a line engineer and was a life member of Amvets. Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents and two brother in-laws: Leroy James and Jerry Throckmorton.



Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Green Walser of the home, son Pastor Jeff Walser wife Rebecca, Steve Walser wife Monica, daughter Cheryl Sutton husband Joseph, sisters Keith James, Tonya Throckmorton, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
