Ruth Howard Huneycutt, 82, of Lexington died Friday, November 5, 2021 at her home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 Wednesday, Nov 10 at First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Elizabeth Horton. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Wednesday in the Church Fellowship Hall prior to the service.

She was born in Bryson City on November 14, 1938 to Rev. Willard Wesley Howard and Gertie Brown Howard. An institution in county government, Ruth was the longtime Director of the Davidson County Board of Elections. She began her career there in 1973 and became Director in 1983. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her son, Ed Huneycutt (Diane) of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Betty Barr (Darren) of Lexington and Bobbie McCarn (Rev. Jeff McCarn) of Waterloo, Illnois; her grandchildren, Rev. Dr. Cameron Barr (Jackson), Peyton Barr, Noah McCarn, and Hallie McCarn; and her sisters, Rachel Payne, Reva Pennington (Steve) both of Lexington and Ruby Henderson of Topsail, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Pastor’s Pantry, 307 N State St., Lexington, NC 27292.
