Lester Hatfield November 22, 1951 - November 4, 2021
Lester Hatfield, born November 22, 1951 of Matewan, WV, passed away at his home November 4, 2021.

Les was a retired coal miner and direct descendant of the Hatfield family.

He spent his childhood on River Road in Buskirk Kentucky and attended a one room school house. He dearly loved his mountain heritage and large extended family. He and wife Linda were married Dec. 23, 1971 . Together, they raised 3 daughters that he absolutely adored. In 1998 he moved to Clemmons North Carolina. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing, however, his greatest joy came from being surrounded by family and friends. He always had a song to whistle and shoulder to lean on. He was a man of faith and never met a stranger that he didn't end up saying a prayer for. He was proceeded in death by his parents Ralph and Shirley Hatfield of Buskirk, Ky, sisters Judy Huddle, Priscilla Hatfield of McCarr, Ky, brothers Buddy Hatfield and Ralph Hatfield Jr. of Mccarr, Kentucky.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Hatfield of Clemmons, NC, and daughters Leslie (Don) Harlow Falmouth, Ky, Misty (Brian) Buchanan of Kernersville, NC, Carrie (Chris) Ray of Winston Salem NC and Shelia (Jason) Long, whom he loved like his own daughter .

The greatest joys in his life were his grandsons: Will Harlow, Mason Ray, Gabe Buchanan, Cole Harlow, Cristian Long, Cayden Long, Ian Long and Alex Long and his granddaughters: Madison Harlow, Harper Ray, Paige Buchanan, Bella Ray, Kaley (Michael) McDonald and Olivia Long . He has two surviving sisters Gypsy (Kevin) Hatfield of Winston Salem, NC and Ann Hatfield of Richmond, Ky and last but not least his beloved Labrador Moses.

He will be forever missed and remembered by all that loved him.
