Ruth Lanning July 11, 1926 - November 3, 2021
Ruth Chandler Lanning, 95, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 03, 2021 at her son’s home, following a battle with covid.



A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Clyde Akers officiating.
Mrs. Lanning was born July 11, 1926, to Ed Chandler and Claudia Chandler. She was retired from Duracell. Mrs. Lanning loved to sew, was an excellent seamstress, and always enjoyed crocheting and doing tatting to make her own lace. She was a very talented artist and loved sharing her art work with businesses in Davidson County. Mrs. Lanning never met a stranger and had a love for her family like no other; her memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kyle Lanning; two sons, Harold and Jessie Lanning; and one sister, Margaret Everidge.



Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kyle Jeffery Lanning and wife Teresa of Churchland; one sister, Katherine Edwards of Walnut Cove and son Kevin; one brother, Edward Chandler and children, Danny, Ray, Scotty, Pat, Peggy, and Sandy; and nine grandchildren, Johnnie Bell (Raymond), Chris Lanning (Tonya), Elizabeth Hower (Edward), Harold Ray Lanning, Jr., Kimberly Brown (Wesley), Joy Lanning, Richard Lanning (Ave), Julie Shalia Wood, and Kamdyn Alex Lanning; thirteen great-grandchildren, Charlotte Holder (Donnie), Samantha Hower, Kimberly Porter (Matthew), Jonathan Lanning, Melanie Price (Dustin), Chris Lanning (Jennifer), Jonathan Lanning (Maisie), Samuel Lanning (Lindsey Payne), Joshua Lanning, Leigh Lanning, Zeke Lanning, Kyle Lanning (Selenia), and Maddie Lanning; and twelve great-great grandchildren, Calum Jones, Colton Bean, Paislee Holder, Jasie Price, Alexandria Lanning, Parker Lanning, Enoch Lanning, Allika Lanning, Braylen Lanning, Lincoln Lanning, Ivy Lanning, and Jasper Lanning.



Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
