Roland Herbert Springstroh October 31, 1936 - October 19, 2023
Roland Herbert Springstroh, 86, of Davidson County, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Glenn Kiser Hospice House.

Roland was born on October 31, 1936, in Appleton, WI, to the late Herbert Springstroh and Ella Stern Springstroh. He worked in operations management for several companies including McGraw-Edison, TRW, and Speed Queen. He then went on to start the first Speed Queen wringer washing machine plant in Searcy, AR. He loved spending time on his computer and was the owner of “Computer Designs”, a store in Lexington, NC, for 20 years before retiring.

In total, he and his family lived in eight states and fourteen houses to make a home. While living in Augusta, GA, he was president of the Junior Achievement which was involved in local community efforts along with Augusta National Golf which hosts the Masters Tournament.

Each move also started a pattern of helping to bring more people to the word of God, as many of the church congregations were in the early stages of forming. Once in Davidson County, he became a member of Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Winston Salem.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Springstroh, and his sister, Shirley Tews.
Left to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 65 years, Diana Friedrich Springstroh, of the home; two children, David Springstroh (Jenny) of Woodstock, GA, and Susan Street of Charlotte; three grandsons, Aaron Bradshaw (Ashley) of Charlotte, Jordan Springstroh (Jane Ann) of Austin, TX, and Adam Springstroh (Hailey) of Woodstock, GA; and two great-grandchildren, Twyla Bradshaw and James Springstroh.

Roland would have celebrated his 87th birthday on October 31st of this year.

He will be missed greatly by those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1355 Jonestown Rd. Winston Salem, NC 27103.
