Billy Ray Luffman May 18, 1929 - October 01, 2023
Billy Ray Luffman, a devoted husband, father, and proud military veteran, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Davidson Health and Rehab. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever endure.

Billy was born to Treely Eli Luffman and Ruth Mae Love Luffman and grew up surrounded by a loving family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Walser Luffman, as well as his brothers, Lawrence Odell Luffman and David Lee Luffman, his sisters, Pearl Elizabeth Simmerson, Doris Lucille Maynard, Kathleen Marie Mincey, and Rachel Mae Smith; and his granddaughter, Kimberly Lockhart. Together, they are now reunited in the embrace of eternity.

Billy proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to preserving freedom and protecting his fellow citizens. His service to his nation was a testament to his courage and dedication.

Among Billy's greatest joys in life was the time he spent with his wife at their cherished cabin, affectionately named "Sleepy Hollow." It was there that they created countless memories and strengthened their bond, making it a place of serenity and love.
Billy was known for his love of the outdoors and his passion for working around their property. One of his most notable accomplishments was the construction of a beautiful covered bridge, a labor of love that he shared with his son, Lynn. This bridge stands as a testament to his craftsmanship and the strong father-son bond they shared.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor Billy's memory and pay their respects. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his service to his country.

Billy leaves behind his loving son, Lynn Luffman, and daughter-in-law, Brenda; and his sister, Margaret Jane Baker. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Beth and Ashley, as well as eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Larry, Austin, Tony, Nick, Codie, Brian, and Abe. His legacy of love and devotion will continue to guide and inspire his family for generations to come.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Good Hope United Methodist Church at 10253 Hampton Rd, Lexington, NC 27295, where Billy was a faithful member and found spiritual solace throughout his life.
Billy Ray Luffman will be remembered for his warm heart, strong spirit, and unwavering commitment to his family, his country, and his faith. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
