Celinda Sue “Cindy” Blackburn Oakley, 67, of Lexington, passed away September 23, 2023, at her home in Lexington.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joshua Whitman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, and burial will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Celinda was born December 28, 1955, in DeKalb County Ga, to Donald Blackburn and Barbara Jean Greer Blackburn. Celinda was of the Baptist faith. Her passion was her faith, family and especially her grandchildren. Celinda loved going out to eat and spending time with family and was known for her joking personality. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Billy Blackburn and sister, Debora Sue Blackwell.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Jason Hemphill and daughter, Stacy Hemphill both of Lexington. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kyler, Karter, Brelle, Amelia, and Jasper. Half-sister, Julie Dykes of Julian, NC and her special lifelong friend, Debbie Craver and husband Kermit of Lexington.
