Mazie Troutman August 25, 1930 - September 20, 2023
Mazie Jane Walser Troutman, a beloved resident of Rowe Road in Lexington, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the age of 93. Her family and friends mourn her passing and celebrate a life rich with love, compassion, and devotion.



A funeral service to honor her memory will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home. The Reverend Misty York will officiate the services. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Memorial Park.



The family will be available to receive friends on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 5 pm until 6 pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. Mazie Jane Walser Troutman was born on August 25, 1930, in Davidson County, North Carolina, to her loving parents, Homer Howard Walser and Lether Jane Shoaf Walser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard Walser, Richard Walser, and Larry Walser; a sister, Lucille Kirk; brothers-in-law, Tommy Weaver, and James Kirk; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth Walser, Shirley Walser, and Malinda Walser.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Jackie Coogan Troutman, who shared a lifetime of love and companionship with her at their home. The honeymoon never ended for them, even after 78 years of marriage. She is also survived by her two daughters, Patricia Darr of Lexington and Jackie Yates (Charles) of Winston Salem; her brothers, Bobby Walser and Wilford Walser; her sisters, Carolyn Weaver, and Donna Berrier (Larry); a sister-in-law, Sue Walser; and two grandchildren, Melissa Darr (Scott), and Adrian Yates Hill (Ian).



Mazie was a woman of many passions and talents. She had a deep love for quilting, and her creations were works of art that warmed the hearts of her loved ones. She delighted in baking and her delicious treats brought joy to family gatherings. She had a keen eye for fashion and enjoyed shopping for unique treasures. Her green thumb was evident in her beautifully maintained yard, where she spent countless hours gardening. In addition to her hobbies, Mazie was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family. Mazie was not only a loving wife and mother but also a dedicated professional. She served as the co-owner and secretary-treasurer of Troutman's Automotive alongside her husband. Their joint efforts and commitment helped build a successful business that became a cornerstone of the community. Her love and kindness touched all who knew her, and her memory will forever be treasured.



In addition, the family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Candace, for her loving devotion and excellent care, and Sade, for her unwavering love and devotion. The family extends they’re thanks to the staff at Bayada of Winston Salem for their exceptional attention and concern. Special thanks are also extended to the staff at Lexington Medical Center for their dedicated care and support.



In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to honor Mazie’s memory. Donations may be directed to Paul’s Chapel Evangelical Church, located at 2791 West Center Street Ext., Lexington, NC 27295, or to Hospice of Davidson County, situated at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.



Mazie Jane Walser Troutman's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will forever be cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she find eternal peace, and may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
