Johm Mark Cook December 07, 1956 - September 12, 2023
John Mark Cook, 66, of Lexington, passed away September 12, 2023, at his home on Craver Rd., Lexington.



A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 5:00 pm Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Darrell Cartrette officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.



Mr. Cook was born on December 7, 1956, in Davidson County, to John Conrad Cook and Gleta Morteith Wilson. John was a devoted family man, always wanted to make sure his family had what they needed. He never met a stranger and loves to joke around with people. He loved restoring old mustangs, collecting grandfather clocks and antiques. He was a 1975 graduate of Central Davidson High School and had retired with the City of Lexington. His passion was his family and especially his grandchildren. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Cooper.



Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Polly Houck Cook of the home, son, John Paul Cook and wife Kelly of Lexington, sister, Glenda Johnson of Lexington, grandchildren, Eli Balies Cook, Asher Edward Cook, Cecila Marie Cook, Christopher “Lee” Cooper and wife Serenity, Nephew, Matthew Catlin and wife Lydia, Nieces, Summer Canovai and husband Lance, Ciera Mesimer and husband Justin, and Brittany Reynolds, also surviving are special aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
