Henrietta Gail Aaron Styers Mainess, 86, of Davidson County, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 4:00 PM, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Pastor Paul Batson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

A private family committal will follow at a later date.

Gail was born on February 25, 1937, in Davidson County, to the late Thomas Henry Aaron and Beatrice McDaniel Aaron Sink. She worked for many years for the Davidson County Public Library System and retired as a Library Technician. She was a member of Jersey Baptist Church. Gail had a natural talent for Interior Design, even going as far as attending school and getting a certification in it. She also enjoyed square dancing and met her second husband while doing so.

Gail is remembered as a very loving, generous, and selfless person. She was a joy to be around, and her faith was the most important aspect of her life. As a ministry, Gail volunteered for years, travelling around the country, and giving her time and love for those in need. Some of the organizations she volunteered with are NC Baptist Disaster Relief, Lexington Hospital, her church, Crisis Ministry, and Hospice.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving stepfather, Hoyle Sink; and her first husband and father of her children, Billy Styers.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Eric Mainess, of the home; two daughters, Robin Shuman (Lloyd), of Lexington, and Monica Walker (Roscoe Jr.), of Lexington; sister, Janet Reich, of Denton; brother-in-law, Don Styers (Sarah), of Lexington; four grandchildren, Leslie Cash (Patrick), Emily Lohr (David), Jason Walker (Meredith), and David Shuman (Sarah); eight great-grandchildren, Ian Cash, Evan Cash, Colton Cash, Caleb Cash, Makenna Shuman, Gabriel Walker, Wyatt Lohr, and Luke Walker; four nephews; and a host of friends and church family.

The family would like to offer a special thanks for the excellent care
Gail was given by the caregivers in the Critical Care Unit at Lexington Medical Center.
