Michael James Hedrick August 21, 1965 - August 27, 2023
Michael James Hedrick, 58, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

Michael was born on August 21, 1965, in Davidson County, beloved son of Robert Dale Fritts and Janice Kepley Fritts. He owned and operated Wheel Works and traveled extensively throughout the Triad, making friends with everyone he met. Mike loved riding his Harley, driving his boat, and being involved in projects around the house and his yard. His favorite color was orange and anyone who knew him knew that he would have had everything in that color if he could.

Mike’s biggest achievement and pride was his family. He was a very loving husband and hands-on father and absolutely adored being a Paw Paw. He always gave more of himself than asked and found a passion for donating and working charity events. Mike was known to go above and beyond to help others. His selflessness endured even in the end when he saved six people on the lake, and as an organ donor he saved numerous others’ lives. Mike truly had a heart for people, and his life was a testament to what he believed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Callie Kepley, and Lloyd and Helen Fritts.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carrie McCuen Hedrick, of the home; son, Matt Hedrick (Alicia), of Lexington; daughters, Meredith Huffman (Josh), of Lexington, Sierra McCuen (Jimmy), of Lexington, Jazmyn McCuen, of Lexington, and Skyla McCuen, of Lexington; parents Robert and Janice Fritts, of Lexington; brother, Todd Fritts, of Lexington; grandchildren, Zy, Jordan, Elliot, Easton, Nolan, Jax, Dax, and one on the way: Parker. First wife and friend, Melissa Garner and so many close friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
