Gary Franklin Loggins August 09, 1947 - August 24, 2023
Gary Franklin Loggins, 76, of Winston-Salem, passed away August 24, 2023, at the home of his daughter in King, NC.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 28,2023, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the officiating Pastors: Eric Bradshaw, Randall Smith, and John Hackworth. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and the burial will follow with military honors at Forest Hill Cemetery, by the Clemmons VFW Post.

Mr. Gary Loggins was born August 9, 1947, in Davidson County, to Joseph Franklin Loggins and Ollie Mae Allen Loggins. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 8, Vietnam Vets of America, and the VFW Clemmons Post. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam. Gary worked for Winn Dixie from the age of 16 and retired as a store manager. In 1987, he opened two successful businesses: Gary’s Market and Gary’s Distributing. Very recently, he became a member of Robinhood Baptist Church, in Winston-Salem. Previously, he had been a member of Faith Chapel Church of God from 1996-July 2023. He had a passion for God, our country, and his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandson. Gary enjoyed the beach, vintage cars, and had a love for dogs – most of all, his dog Buddy. He loved his family dearly; they always knew they could count on him for his love and support. Above all, his proudest achievement and honor was having served his country in Vietnam.
Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Dudney, Sis Little, and Tracy Lanning.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Shirley Q. Burt of the home. Daughter, Kristi Spaugh (Rusty) of King. Stepson, Robert Fuller (Jodie) of Walnut Cove; stepdaughter, Selena Duke (Corey) of GA; and stepson Steve Wall (Karen) of Greensboro. Grandchildren, Laura Joyce (Chase), Allison Sands (Mason), Emily Spaugh, Trebor Fuller, and Francine Fuller. Great grandchild, Jackson Joyce. Surviving is his sister, Frances Wall (Sherrill) of Lexington.

Gary is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. However, his family takes comfort in knowing he is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to K9 for Warrior’s 114 Camp K9 Road, Ponte Vedra, Fla., 32081.
