She was born in Davidson County on April 11, 1959, to her loving parents, Frankie Goss and Janet Gail Thompson, both of whom preceded her in death. Dana had a profound impact on the lives of all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Known for her warm and loving nature, Dana had a special way of making everyone feel appreciated and loved.

Dana's love for holidays and cooking brought the family together, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her K9 companions, including Tipper, Zipper, Smokey, Bella, Taco, and many others who crossed the rainbow bridge before her, held a special place in her heart. Her love and care for these furry friends were a testament to her compassionate and nurturing spirit.Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Jeril "Deane" Hedrick, who stood beside her through thick and thin, their daughter Tiffany Manning (Rick), whose life was enriched by the love of her caring mother, and her sister Ashley Hammond (Kevin), who shared a deep bond of sisterhood with Dana.

A graveside service to celebrate Dana's life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The service will be officiated by Logan and Grayson Hammond. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Cemetery, providing an opportunity to share fond memories and support one another during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Davidson County Animal Alliance at PO Box 183, Thomasville, NC 27361, a cause close to Dana's heart, reflecting her love and compassion for animals.
