Norma Jean Essick, 87, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held 1 PM Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Jean was born February 10, 1936, in Davidson County, to Mr. Elmer James Essick and Mrs. Savannah Hartman Essick. She was a member of Leonard Road Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Essick; one son in-law, Ray Cabe; and one sister in-law, Carolyn Essick.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Dell Welch (Tessy) of Mocksville; three daughters, Loretta Cabe of Linwood, Rita Craver (Hoy) of Virginia, and Ronda Welch of Winston Salem; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
