Stephen Dale Long, of Welcome left his earthly home on December 10, 2022, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to enter his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior.
Born in Forsyth County February 26, 1949, to Walter Woodrow Sr. and Elizabeth Motsinger Long. His parents and a son in law, Adrian Craven preceded him in death.
He proudly served his country in The United States Coast Guard. He was a electrician for Atrium Health Wake Forest Medical Center retiring in 2016 after 40 years of service. He presently serves as Chair of The Davidson County Zoning Committee.
Steve was a dedicated member of Center Church of Welcome, NC where a celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday December 14, 2022, by Pastor Mitchell Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the Christian Fellowship Hall from 12:30 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. He was a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class and Mission Team.

Left to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years, Molly Kepley Long. His daughter, Jennifer Craven, a son, Drew Long (Tiffany) and another daughter, Brittany Hobbs (Dustin). Grandchildren: Adrian Craven, Saafir (Malika) Craven, Kahleb Craven, Caleigh Long, Kinsley Long, Ervin Long, Leland Hobbs and Barrett Long. Also surviving are a great grandchild, Kayden Craven and a brother, Walter Woodrow Long, Jr. (Libby).
