Abigail “Abbey” Kate Whitaker, 19, of Mocksville, NC, departed this world on September 26, 2021, from her home in Davie County.

bbey, as she was so lovingly called, was born on February 5, 2002 in Forsyth Co., NC. She was the daughter of Kenneth Ray Whitaker, Jr. and Chrissie Annette (Upton) Jordan.
In life, Abbey graduated from Davie High School with the class of 2020. She became a full-time student at Davie County Community College. Abbey attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She wore number 8 in softball and loved to hear her family and teammates chant, “ 8 is GREAT!” at all of her games. She will be missed by many and loved by all who knew her.
Abbey leaves behind to cherish her memory; her loving parents, Ray Whitaker and Chrissie Jordan, a half-brother, Brandon Tilley of Charlotte, half-sisters, Cassandra Tilley of Winston-Salem, and Nadia Jordan of Mocksville, step sisters, Leslie and Kendall Jordan, both of Winston-Salem, grandparents, Kenneth R. Whitaker, Sr. and Pat Whitaker of Mocksville, and Jerry and Evelyn Baldwin of Lexington. Also, surviving Abbey are her niece, Alana Jacobs and nephew, Ayden Upton, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation for Abbey will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bob Summers.
