Barbery
Barbery “Bobbie” Parsons, 82, passed peacefully in her home in Lexington, North Carolina on June 12, 2025, surrounded by love and family.
Bobbie was known for her steady presence, sharp wit, and unwavering loyalty to the people she loved. Whether she was cracking a joke, offering her signature advice, or showing up exactly when someone needed her, she had a way of making you feel braver just by being in the room. Her hugs were legendary, her stories unforgettable, and her laughter — well, you knew it when you heard it.

She lived a life defined by faith, resilience, and strength. A proud wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Bobbie held many roles, each one with fierce love and honesty.

She is survived by her children, Michael Parsons (wife Lisa), Sheila Sellers (husband David), Marty Parsons (wife Lisa), and Amanda Benson (husband Barry); her grandchildren, Wesley Sellers, Sidney “Alex” Kolesar (wife Maya), Tyler Sellers (wife Paige), and Kurtis Rogers (wife Katie); and her great-grandchildren, Bayleigh Sellers and Fletcher Rogers. She is also survived by her sister Martha Tilley and sisters-in-law Bytha Duncan and Jerry Ann Duncan, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Parsons; their devoted little dog, Buddy; her mother, Willie Dillard Duncan; her father, Rushie Duncan; and her siblings Harley Duncan, Jerry Duncan, Davis Duncan, Charles Duncan, Frank Duncan, Corey Duncan, Edith Edwards, Dorothy Wakefield, and Elaine Elizabeth Duncan.

A graveside service to celebrate Bobbie’s life and homecoming will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1432 US-21, State Road, North Carolina. The service will be led by her grandson, Wesley Sellers, honoring her legacy with the love and words she helped shape. Davidson Funeral Home of Winston Salem is serving the family.

The family simply invites you to honor Bobbie’s legacy in whatever way feels fitting — whether that be with a kind word, a shared story, or flowers sent in her memory. She loved beauty in small, thoughtful form especially when it came from the heart.
