Robert “Bobby” Craven, Jr. of Denton, passed away last week after a hard fought 2-year illness.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton, with Pastor Jason Grubb officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.
Bobby was born in Randolph County to Bob and Polly Craven. He was a graduate of Denton High School and UNC Charlotte. He had a long career in the furniture manufacturing industry and more recently at Furnitureland South, where he worked for more than 20 years. Prior to his career in furniture, he was the previous owner/operator of Denton Florist. In addition to his career, he spent many years as a Little League Baseball coach, was an amateur photographer, and avid music enthusiast, and lover of dogs. Bobby is lovingly survived by his wife, Angela, and his proudest accomplishment, his daughter, Jordan Jones, and her husband Michael. Also surviving are his brother, Chris Craven, sister, Amy Craven and husband Wink Boyd and nephews Isaiah and Levon Boyd. He also leaves behind his devoted companion, his dog Rastus.
In addition to flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Denton Animal Hospital for Lucy’s Fund at 175 Haywood St., Denton, NC 27239 or a book can be donated to the Denton Public Library.
